ZeniMax Is Serious Weight Along I-270

Maybe you have driven north along I-270 and there, on your right just before Shady Grove, is this building that says “ZeniMax.” Maybe you’ve wondered what the heck it is…some pharmaceutical distributor? A consulting company? Home theater installation?
None of the above. If you have children of a certain age, or are a gamer yourself, you probably have one or two ZeniMax products in your house. Because they own companies that make video games, including Pirates of the Carribean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow, Rogue Warrior, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Those are not namby-pamby titles — just ask your kids.
With a board of directors that includes Jerry Bruckheimer, Les Moonves, and Cal Ripken, Jr., this company came to play. According to the Washington Post, they have just announced the acquisition of a new software company devoted to massively multiplayer games (the wave of the future, you watch).
With so much of the gaming industry centered in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, I’m glad to have such a heavy hitter just up the way.
