Another Fine Rockville Roundtable Lunch
>Today a small group of folks met for lunch at the Apollo Restaurant — it was the second meeting of the motley bunch known as the Rockville Roundtable. How did it get its name? Why, our friend Ruth Hanessian suggested it!
In any event, it’s just an informal lunch with people who are interested. Anyone can come. There’s no “membership” as such. There are no speeches or program. Dress is required, but type of dress is up to you. Me, I didn’t shave and my hair was sticking straight up. But that’s just how I roll.
It’s a great place to connect with other Rockville residents and talk about things. The first one was Valentine’s Day and was at the Austin Grill in Rockville Town Square.
At today’s lunch, conversation was no less spirited than at the last. We talked about parking in Town Square (natch), the Planning Commission, water, the Board of Elections, and what kinds of objects make the best planters. Council Member Phyllis Marcuccio was kind enough to attend, and my heart was warmed to see her taking notes.
I hope that, if you are interested, you’ll be able to come to the next one, which will be . . . drum roll please . . . on Thursday, April 17, at 12:15 at Ambrosia Grill, 802 Hungerford Dr. (across from Flagship car wash).
See you then!
