Daryl Davis, Concert in the Square, Rockville Town Square, 6 PM – 8 PM. He’s a musician, author, and lecturer. You may have heard him speak at Montgomery College and now you should hear him play: “Blues, Rockabilly, Rock’n'Roll, Boogie Woogie, Zydeco, and Country”. He’s played that piano with such greats as Chuck Berry and the Coasters!

Gilbert & Sullivan’s Patience by the Victorian Opera Company, F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, 8 PM. $20/adults, $15/seniors & students. This is the preview show with half price tickets!

Collection of Electronic Equipment for Recycling, Rockville City Hall, 9 AM – 2 PM. Hewlett Packard is sponsoring this event. We Recyle Inc. will be collecting your old electronics. You CAN recycle computers, laptops, hard drives, monitors (no loose glass), household printers, VCRs, DVD players, digital phones and personal printers but you CANNOT bring tvs, microwaves, stoves, refrigerants, air conditioners, or chemicals. (For the CANNOT list, call 240-314-8568 to schedule curbside pickups.)

Rockville Growers Only Farmers Market, Corner of Monroe Street & Rt. 28, 9 AM – 1 PM. Free parking. First one of the season! Flowers, fruits, vegetables, plants and home-baked goods. Always a good review.

Rockville Express vs Orioles, Montgomery College Rockville, Knight’s Field, 1 PM Doubleheader. Free Admission to all Home Games, which are family-friendly with souvenirs and food from O’Brien’s Pit Barbeque.

Flag Day!
Fugitive Brass Quintet, Rockville Town Center Plaza, 6:30 PM
Flag Day Ceremony, Rockville Town Center Plaza, 7 PM. Mayor Susan Hoffmann will read a Flag Day Proclamation. Exhalted Ruler Cathye Simanek from the Washington-Rockville Elks Lodge #15 will explain the history of the American flag. Everyone is invited back to the Elks Lodge at 5 Taft Ct. in Rockville for refreshments. The American Legion Post #86, Fleet Reserve Association Triangle Branch #182, the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 641, and Boy Scout Troop 1449 will attend, so join them!

The West End, Austin Grill Rockville, 9:30 PM. Never a cover charge. Charged up from their fun performance at Rockville’s Hometown Holidays, Monique DeFrees, Brad Rourke, Mike Shawn, and Matthew Taylor will be rockin back at the Austin Grill! TWE says “We’ve been working on new material and changing some songs around a bit so we think this should be a lot of fun!”

Sunday, June 15

Gilbert & Sullivan’s Patience by the Victorian Opera Company, F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, 2 PM. $20/adults, $15/seniors & students. Community Outreach Day! “Each paying adult or senior can bring two children under 16 for free, with activities and backstage tours.”

Monday, June 16

Tuesday, June 17

Kid’s Day, Rockville Town Square, 6 PM – 8 PM. Free activities for the kids! Climbing, golf, baseball, dance, and a Velcro wall! Every Tuesday until July 22nd. Kids eat free at participating restaurants.

Town Center Action Team, Rockville City Hall, Blue Crab Conference Room, 7 PM. Elections for Chair and Secretary, Update on the Town Square grocery, pavers, & condo sales. Phase 2 Status of KSI Development, Giant site, & the extension of Dawson Avenue.

Wednesday, June 18

The Guzzlers, Out to Lunch Wednesdays, East Montgomery Avenue in Rockville Town Center, 12 PM – 1:30 PM. Roots rock, rockabilly & blues, plus the Farmers’ Market and Food.

Naked Blue, Concerts on the Square, Rockville Town Center, 6 PM – 8 PM but the band’s website says 7 PM. Jen Smith with the full band. Dreamy talent with five CDs out so far and awards for rock/pop and contemporary folk. See the video and you need not read another word.

Thursday, June 19

storian Judy Christensen tells the story of Father Divine (George Baker), the influential and charismatic religious leader who was born in a Rockville shanty in 1879.
