The gorgeous shot is by Rockville Central friend Eric Jensen. Of it, he says: “Lola Café and Bakery – new bakery and café next to the Apollo restaurant. Great baked goods, great coffee AND they serve it in ceramic cups on ceramic saucers. What a treat.”

Eric Jensen sells Fine Art Prints and is available for portrait and event photography. Check out some of his work on Flickr.

    while the name says “bakery”,>
the menu covers a lot more territory
    than pastries–empanadas and other
    salty stuff of Argentine extraction
tempt the tummy even when the sweet
tooth is under control. i bought what
i thought was going to be a pasta frola
only to find i’d brought home a pascua-
    lina
, and it was delicious anyway. (i
went back for the pasta frola on the
second visit but my wife’s nephews
devoured it without saving me a taste
    tidbit)

The warm churros are delicious, the coffee is yummy, the staff are friendly, the owner is curteous, the ambiance is warm with reference to the color scheme and the options for lunch are numerous. The spinach quiche is to die for [so incredibly gorgeous and delicious!] and the pastries are beautiful. WE LOVE IT!!!! Great prices, too. So glad its across the street from our office, we go there twice a week at least!
