Recently I >started kickboxing instruction with an excellent trainer, Lyu Pollar
d. As a 4th degree black belt who also teaches Kung-Fu and Tae Kwon Do, she’s knowledgeable and straightforward with lots of good basic techniques to share.
She’s offering special two-week workshops for both adults and kids on March 7th and 14th, 2009 at Rockville Martial Arts and Learning Center 1331-N Rockville Pike (just south of Woodmont Country Club).
Extreme Self-Defense for Adults
10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
In these two sessions, she’ll teach an effective and practical self-defense system on how to block, defend, avoid, and escape an assailant.
Kids Self Defense:
12:45 PM – 2:00 PM
This two-day class teaches children to think instead of panic in potentially serious situations, as well as how to react to threats from other kids. The sessions will instruct kids to think on their feet to improvise and avoid trouble whenever possible. For the fun of it, she’ll also teach practical self defense with nunchaks, which both my boys are very interested in learning. Strategies against bullying behavior will also be taught.
The fees are discounted if registration includes adults and kids. Call RMALC for the rates at 301-251-4000.
