Lunching In the DMV, A Cool Restaurant Review Site

Dskco lives in Rockville and admits “I’m a 25 year old female, wh>o loves/adores/fancies to eat out because I’m too lazy to cook!” She hopes her website, Lunching In The DMV, will help those living in the DC Metro area to find good places to dine.

“Lunching” is the DC Metro area term for being absurd, ridiculous, or idiotic (according to Urbandictionary.com) and DMV is (of course) DC, Maryland, Virginia.

Photographs fill each review so you get a real feel for the place even before she describes the food. We highly recommend her balanced, down-to-earth narratives. You’ll know exactly what to expect if you go out to eat at one of these restaurants.

Her latest post describes Mi Rancho which I’ve been wondering about since On the Border closed at this location. She writes,

When you walk in there’s a bar, and then the coolest thing ever, which is their tortilla machine! Some lady got really excited and asked one of the workers there if she could work the machine herself =) Basically a ball of dough is dropped into one side and it goes through and gets flattened and put through its oven and comes out ready to eat.

Since October of 2008, she’s written about these fine Rockville establishments:

Joe’s Noodle House

Mosaic Cuisine

Pho 75

India Grill

Cuban Corner

Yogiberry

Urban Burger

La Brasa

The next review will be of Addie’s. We’ll be sure to let you know when. Every time I go to her site, I get hungry!

Glad she liked the food there. I had a very different experience with the service, though. My wife and I went a few weeks ago and ended up walking out after 15 minutes of waiting for a server (any server) to approach the table. This was on a Sunday, early afternoon, so the place was far from packed, and there was a knot of five servers at the nearest kiosk. Not a great first impression, and the last impression we’ll get from that restaurant!
