Pick of the Week

woundedwarriorThe Digits at Woodley Garden Swim Club
850 Nelson Street
Saturday, July 11, 2009
7:30 to 10:30 PM

Summer is time for the pool and outdoor music, so this weekend combine the two for a cause. The Digits are playing Woodley Gardens Swim Club with all proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. This 4th Annual Event and Silent Auction is open to all for a $5 donation/person. Relax by the pool with what’s certain to be a large crowd. Hard Times Cafe and Carmen’s Italian Ice will be selling with 20% of the proceeds for WWP.

The Digits began playing together at the pool, which has donated the space for this concert. They always offer the microphone to anyone who wants to sing along. The band rocks from the Beatles to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The Wounded Warrior Project brings peer support groups together. Their Project Odyssey provides outdoor recreational program to help veterans handle combat stress. WWP also advocates for changes in benefits and veteran policy.

When it’s time to move inside, The West End with Rockville Central’s very own Brad Rourke on guitar and vocals, are rocking Potomac Grill until LATE.

If you missed the concert, or even if you didn’t, another simple way to support Wounded Warrior Proj. is with your web searches. http://www.freelanthropy.com/search/wwp is yahoo search that gives money to Wounded Warrior Project
