I have to say, I just moved here from the Midwest and for a kid around here to say there is nothing to do is just ridiculous. My son has started going to play basketball at Lincoln Park and Twinbrook Community Centers and could stay there all day. He has gone to the pool, he has gone to the movies, he has gone to camps, he has gone to parties and dances that are sponsored by the City and they have all been awesome. All you have to is open your eyes around here to find some fun.

Elaine, Thank you for your comment. I chair the Human Services Advisory Commission and we spent a great deal of time this last year looking at teen issues. The City provides many programs and often does not have participation. At the same time, I hear “There’s not enough activities for teens.” I would like feedback on this issue.

The parents I talk to in this area tend to do whatever their kids tell them to do. When I was growing up, my parents sent me to camp and I had fun.
