Unitarian Church Choir Performing 'One Armed Man: A Mass For Peace' Friday Night

In the case that the weather holds (and by then it should have cleared up a bit), >Rockville Central friend Rotraut Bockstahler wanted everyone to know about an important concert taking place on Friday night at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Rockville (by Welsh Park).

Friday, January 8, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Suggested donation is $20.

Unitarian Universalist Church of Rockville presents a performance of The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace by Karl Jenkins. UUCR’s Adult Choir, under the direction of Jennifer Rodgers Beach, will be joined by members of the choirs from:

• St. Francis Episcopal Church, Vienna, Virginia
• St. Luke’s Catholic Church, McLean, Virginia
• The Amadeus Community Singers, McLean, Virginia
• The Metropolitan Chorus, Arlington, Virginia
• The Messiah United Methodist Church, Springfield, Virginia

The massed choir will be accompanied by an orchestra composed of local professionals. Proceeds from this benefit concert will go to a local peace-related cause.
