Trapper Martin, President of the Town Center Action Team (TCAT) has extended an invitation to our readers to get a “sneak peak” behind the new courthouse project.

The tour will take place on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 at 2:30 PM. If you would like to attend you must RSVP to Trapper by email: tmartin@noodles.com.

Since it’s a construction site there is a dress code. No tennis shoes and no shorts. Visitors must wear hiking or work boots. Also if you happen to have a hard hat then bring one of those along as well.

You should get back to him as soon as possible if you are interested in this unique opportunity.

He sends a special thank you to Aileen Klein and Rocio Estrada for helping to get this set up. I do too. I’ve already signed up!

    is there any parking?

Well now, that is a very good question and I’ve been asking it all along. When the Courthouse opens, everyone will be directed to the parking in the Town Center garages and this is an option. There are meters along Vinson and South Washington Streets but not very many and they are usually full. The County garage can be accessed from Monroe Street, metered parking. There might be a spot or two.Leave some time to find a space. Luckily I’m two blocks away, so I’ll hoof it over in my motorcycle boots.

    The broom not working?

There are occasionally some short-term metered spaces open in front of City Hall across from the back of the courthouse.
