The Chestnut Lodge development still looks pretty desolate in the winter and all empty as it is. But, it is nice to see construction continuing!

The morning after the recent snow “storm.” I thought this scene, while ordinary, just looked sort of neat.

My favorite Rockville park, captured in the midst of the recent overnight snow. Isn’t it pretty??

Oh, I just could not help myself. This photo is a close up of the building damage caused by the car that recently plowed into the PNC bank.

I am just fascinated by crows (and not only because a group of them is called a “murder.”) In any event, there was a murder of ‘em outside of my house, and I ran to get a photo. This was all I could get before they flew away!

I love, love, love this ivy-covered tree with its bare branches. You can see this from the Flagship Carwash across the Metro tracks, while you are waiting for your car to go into the tunnel.

Nothing sadder than a deflated balloon trying to stay perky . . . .

Here’s another taken at morning twilight. I love the way they have turned their lamp into a snowman — though, as someone who used to live in Los Angeles, it actually reminds me of the Jack In The Box guy!

I love the way things look in the gloaming — you know, at half light. This one was taken just before sunrise, so it is not officially in the gloaming (which is the evening twilight). Anyway, it is a very handsome home near where I live. They still have their holiday lights up.

A most remarkable bike I saw, while taking a leisurely drive through Twinbrook on New Year’s Eve Day.

While it is a somber start to the New Year, I feel it would not be right to neglect paying respects to Gavino Euseda, who lost his life last Wednesday, December 29, in a tragic accident at the Flagship Car Wash on 355. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and co-workers.

Here’s an awesome photo by Rockville Central friend Janet Piczak Brown. Of it, she says: “Looked out of my skylight and noticed the moon shining through the clouds. Had to brave the cold and the raccoon to snap a picture. Certainly not an eclipse photo but it looked so bright and pretty behind the clouds.”

Have a wonderful holiday! We’ll see you January 3.
