Lunar New Year Family Day At VisArts (Jan. 29)
Celebrate the Lunar New Year with a family event and reception at VisArts during a day to celebrate Asian art and culture. They’ll be professional Chinese Lion Dance performances, free cultural foods, a Curator’s Gallery Talk, and art demonstrations.

VisArts currently has three exhibitions with the theme Looking East: A Celebration of Asian Culture which include many special lectures and events (through February 20, 2011).
- Retracing Our Steps: A Journey Through 100 Years of the ROC, including photographs never-before exhibited in the United States. Sponsored by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S.
- Fused Identity: Contemporary Asian Artists currated by Komelia H. Okim, Professor of Art/Metal and Coordinator of Crafts at Montgomery College.
- Dancing Rabbit: Youth Artists Interpretations of a New Year, which is a youth competition with awards sponsored by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S.
