Of it, her mother, Theresa Defino, says: “For years we admired the dreamy quality of the mannequins in helen’s bridal shop on n. washington street. julia captured this one, which is featured in richard montgomery high school’s 2010 literary magazine. it seems the shop is out of business now. i wonder what became of this ‘woman?’”

She says: “There’s an elusive blue heron who has been eating out of my pond. Two days ago he arrived in our yard, stood next to the pond and grabbed a fish! Julia got a shot of him as he flew off and landed on the neighbor’s roof.”
