Delivery Bandit Arrested
The City of Rockville reports the arrest of Kevin Martinez, age 19, of the 500 block of Calvin Lane for one count of attempted robbery and four counts of robbery of two restaurant delivery drivers.
An astute employee at Café Asia recognized the address for a delivery order as being the same one provided before the robbery of a delivery driver on September 24th. The employee called the Police.
From the City’s Press Release:
Rockville City Police, along with Montgomery County Police from the Wheaton District, arrived just before 3 p.m. Oct. 12 to the address for the delivery order and observed a man wearing a mask and standing to the left side of the house from where the order was placed.
Police took the man into custody and found in his possession a black knit cap with eyeholes cut into it, rubber gloves, work gloves and a small folding knife. Police also checked the man’s cell phone and found that it was used to call Café Asia just before the Sept. 24 robbery.
Martinez is facing charges for the robberies of two delivery drivers and two different restaurants, Café Asia and Jerry’s Subs and Pizza. The investigation is ongoing and he is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center. A bond review hearing is scheduled for today in District Court.
I have to ask, “Did he really use the same address?” Thank goodness for stupid criminals.

Criminals, by definition, are stupid. They prove this by erring in judgment. Instead of being thankful for them, let’s instead thank the wiser law-abiders.
Hope this arrest will be a lesson to other individuals who think that robbing is acceptable. When irresponsible individuals commit minor crimes and get away with it, they get brave and try bigger crimes. There must be strict consequences for criminal action as taken by this one Rockville individual.
The arrested individual having a black knit cap with eye holes cut into it, rubber gloves, work gloves and a small folding knife is enough to concerns the public and me.
Hope the hearing outcome is reported here on Rockville Central.
What saddens me is that a 19 year old in Rockville thinks he has to resort to something like this…..to make what, $30 bucks? Such a waste….so young and now so tarnished…..it doesn’t have to be this way.
Good job, Cafe Asia employee.
