Don’t forget, the next Rockville Roundtable will be held on >Wednesday, May 13, at 12:30 pm. We will meet at the new Indian restaurant in Town Square: Spice Xing. That’s on Gibbs Street.

What is the Rockville Roundtable? I am glad you asked that. It’s just an informal lunch. We meet every month, always on a different day (so different people can come). It’s come-as-you-are, very casual, there are no speeches, it’s low pressure, and some people even say it’s fun! There is usually about a dozen of us, but sometimes our numbers grow. Why, look, there’s a photo from our last lunch.

It’s just a chance to get together and talk about anything that seems interesting.

Hope to see you on the 13th! If you think of it, please shoot me an email rsvp’ing, but if you forget, don’t worry: just show up.

See you there!

Yesterday, the infamous >Rockville Roundtable met for our monthly itinerant lunch, this time at the Hollywood Diner on Rockville Pike.

We had a great time, enjoyed fabulous conversation, and generally had a great time. Watch this space for information on the next Rockville Roundtable.

Here is our take on the afternoon:

The Roundtable is just an informal lunch, each time on a different day and at a different place. Anyone is welcome, there are no speeches or anything fancy, and it is usually a blast. Our numbers have been growing slowly but surely.

See you at the next one!

Just a note to let everyone know that the next Rockville Roundtable will be Monday, March 9 at 12:30. It will be somewhere in Twinbrook, but I have not yet determined where (give me ideas! It works best if people pay when they get their food, rather than table service).

The Roundtable is just an informal lunch, each time on a different day and at a different place. Anyone is welcome, there are no speeches or anything fancy, and it is usually a blast. Our numbers have been growing slowly but surely, and this month’s first-anniversary meetingwas the largest yet. (There we are.)
Watch this space for the location, which I should have nailed down in a few days.

Thank You For Coming To Rockville Roundtable's First Anniversary

Today we had a wonderful time at the first anniversary party for the Rockville Roundtable, which we held where it all began at Austin Grill in Town Square.

Most of these folks have been meeting together each month for an informal lunch, each time on a different day and at a different place. Anyone is welcome, there are no speeches or anything fancy, and it is usually a blast. Our numbers have been growing slowly but surely, and today’s lunch was the largest yet. (Hey, look! That’s us!)

I want to thank everyone who comes, and in particular the special people who have been supporters from the beginning and who keep encouraging me to keep it going. I won’t name names, becuase it is not that kind of gathering — but you know who you are.

Watch this space for date and location of the next Rockville Roundtable!

Rockville Roundtable Anniversary Lunch — Tuesday February 11 At Austin Grill!

Last month a near-capacity crowd squeezed together at Noodles & Co. to take part in the monthly >Rockville Roundtable. Each month, we meet at a different restaurant to have lunch (Dutch) and to talk over the issues of the day in an informal setting. There are no agendas, no speakers, and no fancy dress — just folks.

The next Rockville Roundtable is a bit of a special event. It’s the Roundtable’s one year annniversary! So, we’ll be going back where it all started.

The next Rockville Roundtable will be tomorrow, Tuesday, February 10, 12:30 till 2:00 pm at the Austin Grill in Town Square.

Why, here’s a picture last month’s crowd! That’s us, all squeezed into that one table.

We look forward to seeing you there! If you think of it, it would be helpful to rsvp by sending me an email. But if you forget, don’t worry. Just come!

Going To Rockville Roundtable On Thursday?

Don’t forget! The >next Rockville Roundtable is Thursday, January 15, 2009, from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. We’ll meet at the brand-new Noodles & Co. in Town Square. (That’s right at Gibbs and Middle Lane.)

If you are coming, it helps if you let me know by sending me a note — especially if you can offer a ride. One Roundtable regular can’t drive just now and could use a lift (the person lives near Julius West Middle School). But don’t worry if you haven’t rsvp’d and Thursday rolls around — just come!

What is this “Rockville Roundtable?” Why, it’s simple. Just an informal lunch. We get together, with no agenda, no speakers, no podium, nothing fancy (and no dress code — you should see how I show up). Just lunch together, Dutch. We usually have a mix of familiar as well as new friends. I hope one of them will be you!

Sometimes we talk about important things, other times it’s trivia. Mostly, it’s somewhere in-between.

Hope to see you there.
