We >had a boffo time at the last Rockville Roundtable, so let’s continue the fun!

The next Rockville Roundtable will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 12:30 pm. We will meet at the new Indian restaurant in Town Square: Spice Xing. That’s on Gibbs Street.

What is the Rockville Roundtable? I am glad you asked that. It’s just an informal lunch. We meet every month, always on a different day (so different people can come). It’s come-as-you-are, very casual, there are no speeches, it’s low pressure, and some people even say it’s fun. There is usually about a dozen of us, but sometimes our numbers grow. There’s a photo from our last lunch.

It’s just a chance to get together and talk about anything that seems interesting.

Hope to see you on the 13th! If you think of it, please shoot me an email rsvp’ing, but if you forget, don’t worry: just show up.

Yesterday, the infamous >Rockville Roundtable met for our monthly itinerant lunch, this time at the Hollywood Diner on Rockville Pike.

Rockville Roundtable Anniversary Lunch — Tuesday February 11 At Austin Grill!

Last month a near-capacity crowd squeezed together at Noodles & Co. to take part in the monthly >Rockville Roundtable. Each month, we meet at a different restaurant to have lunch (Dutch) and to talk over the issues of the day in an informal setting. There are no agendas, no speakers, and no fancy dress — just folks.

The next Rockville Roundtable is a bit of a special event. It’s the Roundtable’s one year annniversary! So, we’ll be going back where it all started.

The next Rockville Roundtable will be tomorrow, Tuesday, February 10, 12:30 till 2:00 pm at the Austin Grill in Town Square.

If you are coming, it helps if you let me know by sending me a note — especially if you can offer a ride. One Roundtable regular can’t drive just now and could use a lift (the person lives near Julius West Middle School). But don’t worry if you haven’t rsvp’d and Thursday rolls around — just come!

We get together, with no agenda, no speakers, no podium, nothing fancy (and no dress code — you should see how I show up). Just lunch together, Dutch. First — Have a delicious dinner and celebrate Bobby’s Crabcakes first year in business with free hot chocolate and dessert. This event kicks off a fundraising campaign for Save the Bay. For the next year, 15% of the purchase of a jumbo crabcake platter will be donated to Save the Bay. (6 PM - 10 PM)

Then — Walk down the street to VisArts, view the new exhibits, enjoy wine and cheese, and attend HearArts. (6:30 - 9 PM)

11:30 am-1:00 pm Sugar Plum Extravaganza at American Dance Institute The Sugar Plum Extravaganza will offer an interactive introduction to the “Nutcracker”story through dancing, crafts and a “kingdom of sweets,” for children ages three through eight. Kids will practice “Nutcracker” plies and pirouettes onstage, where American Dance Institute instructors and students will lead a story dance. The Extravaganza will also feature arts and crafts inspired by the famous ballet, photos taken with the Sugar Plum and tasty treats from the “Kingdom of Sweets.” more info
